Hamsters and Owls

Overview

Based on the popular Wizards & Dragons which is a 100% on-chain, community-driven strategy game using collectible utility-focused NFTs. Hamsters vs Owls takes it to the next level by combining the familiar economy with the Hamster. Money algorithmic stablecoin $HAM.

Game story

This is a story about valiant Hamsters protecting their treasure from devious Owls. This conflict has been going for aeons, and now Hamsters and Owls live in an era of uneasy peace. Hamsters are the guardians of the hideout, where they keep their treasured gems. Owls are thieves that steal newly minted NFTs. They can steal any type (Hamsters or Owls) of NFTs at the mint. On average, 10% of all new mints are stolen by Owls.

Treasure chest is a protection device that reduces the chances of NFTs being stolen at the mint by up to 50% (the process is randomised). Chests act as decoys, making Owls take them instead of newly minted NFTs.

Hamsters have a longstanding agreement with Owls - Owls do not steal hamsters staked in the hideout in exchange for 25% of the GEMs that

Hamsters receive daily (25 GEM a day) as a reward for their guarding duties. To receive the tax, Owls have to be staked in the hideout.

Owls have different ranks, and the tax is distributed amongst the Owls according to their rank. Rank 1 is the highest and Rank 1 Owls get the bigger share of the tax income than the lower ranks.

The road home from the hideout is very treacherous for hamsters. They cannot leave the hideout for the first two days after being staked. Hamsters can collect their rewards during this period and it will be taxable by Owls (25%) at claim. Claiming the reward resets the lock up period. When they can leave the hideout after 2 days, Hamsters can take their earnings tax free (Claim and Withdraw), but risk being robbed by Owls (Owls take 100%) when they exit the hideout (50% chance).

GEM is extracted from the GEM mine (farm). Stake HAM/GEM LP to receive GEM rewards.

Hamsters are accumulating their strength, and soon will begin training to be able to face their enemies - the Owls in PvP combat.
