Blockchain Solana (SOL)

SolSea is the biggest NFT platform on Solana, introducing NFTs with embedded licenses, lowest trading fees, and real-time analytics from on-chain data.

SolSea

What is SolSea?

SolSea is the first open NFT marketplace on Solana with integrated minting. It introduces NFTs with embedded licenses (NFT-PROs), calculates Rarity Rank for collections, supports wallet funding with Moonpay, and is regularly updated with new features.

How do I get started on SolSea?

Begin by creating a Solana wallet, if you don’t already have one. SolSea currently supports Phantom, Solflare, Ledger, Sollet, Slope, Coin98, NuFi, Coinbase Wallet and Trust wallet.

Deposit SOL in your wallet; SolSea recommends having at least SOL 0.2, otherwise your account may not be recognized as "valid".

If you wish to be a creator on SolSea, you have to create an account by registering with a valid email address. You will have to verify your email before your account setup can be completed.

Which wallets are supported on SolSea?

SolSea currently supports Phantom, Sollet, Solflare (both for desktop and mobile), Torus, Coin98, Coinbase Wallet, Slope, NuFi and Trust. Ledger wallets are limited in terms of functionalities due to Ledger's unique features, but they are also supported on SolSea for basic transactions.

What are the fees on SolSea?

There is a 2% marketplace fee which occurs on every successful NFT sale. Artists can also decide their own creator’s fee (royalties).

There is a small minting fee that includes SolSea's minting service, token account creation and storage upload. Its value will depend on the file size of your uploads.

The rent fee for listing (opening a token account) is returned to you once an NFT is delisted or purchased.

What is A Rarity Rank And A Rarity Score?

Rarity Rank is an NFT’s rank based on its rarity within the collection it belongs to. It is a number that represents an NFT’s position within the collection based on the rarity score of that NFT. Rarity Score is a number that represents the calculation of how rare is the sum of the traits of an NFT.

What features does SolSea have?

SolSea is a product of the ALL.ART Protocol and includes features such as embedded licenses for NFTs (NFT-PRO), NFT compatibility with the SPL token standard allowing all NFTs minted on Solana to be listed, the ability to mint NFTs on the marketplace, and many, many more.

How can I create an NFT on SolSea?

First thing’s first: if you wish to create a collection on SolSea, make sure you create it before you start minting the NFTs that are part of that collection.

Create a profile on the platform (if you don’t already have one) and make sure your connected wallet has SOL on it. Before you can start minting, make sure that you have enabled the feature Do you want to be creator? on your profile. You can do so by going to My Profile > Edit Profile.

Once that’s set up, go to Create NFT on the left sidebar, and follow the steps described in the form. After you mint an NFT, don't forget to click the “⟳ Reload” button in your wallet to sync the data - you'll see the newly minted NFT appear in your wallet!

Note that once an NFT is minted, it cannot be edited!

What are the transaction fees for minting NFTs on SolSea?

The fees for minting NFTs vary, primarily depending on the size of the file uploaded. A 150KB file will be “cheaper” to mint than a 20MB file, for example.

How does bidding work on SolSea?

When you place a bid on an NFT, you essentially transfer funds to an escrow account, where those funds remain until either you cancel the bid or the owner of the NFT accepts it.

So let's say you bid on an NFT for 1 SOL. Your wallet will be depleted for those funds and they will be transferred to the escrow account created for your bid. If the owner of the NFT accepts the bid, they'll receive the 1 SOL and you'll receive the NFT. Alternately, if you cancel the bid, the account will close and the 1 SOL will be transferred back to your wallet.

How can I place a bid on an NFT?

If you’re in a hurry, you can place a bid directly on an NFT card, on the Explore NFTs page. Simply click on the “Bid” button, enter the price you want to bid and confirm the transaction that will pop up.

Alternatively, there’s a button “Place a bid” on a single NFT page with the same function.

The owner of the NFT can choose to accept your bid at any time, as long as it remains an option. You can choose to withdraw your bid by clicking “Cancel bid” in your wallet or on the NFT’s page whenever you want.

Unlockable Content

SolSea is the first NFT marketplace on Solana to support unlockable content, in partnership with Darkblock. Darkblock is a company that stores all NFT content on Arweave - cloud storage that is permanent, censor-resistant, and most importantly, decentralized.

Unlockable content is additional content you can upload when minting an NFT on SolSea that only the owner of your NFT can unlock. Unlockable content can be anything from higher resolution media, PDFs, BTS videos of your created art, other additional exclusive content, and even physical collectibles, prints, discount codes, access to private communities...

To mint an NFT with unlockable content, make sure you check the box when you upload your main artwork file.

Essentially, if you want to sell an ebook (PDF) but don't want anyone except the person who owns your NFT to have access to it, all you have to do is upload some kind of preview file (e.g. IMG or GIF) as a cover, and then upload your ebook as the main artwork file - don't forget to check the box for unlockable content while doing so!

What does it mean to be verified on SolSea?

When a collection is verified on SolSea, it means that SolSea's Collection Verification Team has determined that the person applying for verification is the actual author of the collection in question. In the case of collections minted outside of SolSea (e.g. using Candy Machine), their Collection Verification Team determines that NFTs belong to a verified collection through the first verified signer of the collection submitted for verification.

What is the Pre-Market stage?

When a collection is in the Pre-Market stage, anyone can list an NFT from that collection, but purchasing is disabled.

This mechanism protects the primary sale until the minting is complete, while providing communities with a price discovery tool in real-time on the secondary market.

Traders can price and list their freshly minted NFTs based on their estimation of the value once the primary sale ends, effectively creating a fair market before trading is enabled.

Contact Creators

In partnership with Dialect, SolSea has implemented smart messaging - wallet-to-wallet chatting. If you want to message a creator on SolSea directly, you can do so by sending them a message via wallet.

First, make sure your wallet is connected. Then navigate to the profile of a creator you want to send a message to and click on 'Contact Creator'.

You can choose whether you want to send off-chain or on-chain messages. On-chain messages are written into the blockchain so if you want to send on-chain messages, keep in mind that you will have to pay small fees for each message you send. You will also have to leave a rent deposit (0.058 SOL) which you will get back if you delete the chat thread.

Staking AART Tokens

As of June 2022 SolSe's starting marketplace fee has been reduced from 3% to 2%. Additionally, by staking AART tokens on the "Stake" page on SolSea, you can further reduce the marketplace fee all the way to 0%. This means that, if you stake AART tokens, you will receive more revenue from every NFT you sell on SolSea as no fees will be deducted from sale transactions.

Here is the table of discounts:

  • 25,000 $AART > 1.5% marketplace fee

  • 50,000 $AART > 1% marketplace fee

  • 75,000 $AART > 0.5% marketplace fee

  • 100,000 $AART > 0% marketplace fee

You can withdraw the tokens at any time, upon which the marketplace fee for you will reset to 2%.

GOLD Listing

Stake AART tokens when listing an NFT to highlight that NFT on the Explore pages. You can stake as many AART tokens as you want. Highlighted NFTs will be sorted by the amount of tokens staked, in descending order.

Note that staking is only possible on verified NFTs.
